Kelvin was one of the first test subjects in scientific studies on meditation in 1971 by Herbert Benson, MD, a Boston cardiologist and Harvard medical school professor, who later published his results in many scientific journals, including Scientific American.
Physicians, nurses, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and therapists refer their clients to Kelvin.
Kelvin’s History
Kelvin began his career in stress management and teaching meditation in 1970 when he learned Transcendental Meditation (TM) and studied with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Kelvin taught TM until 1978 in international leadership roles, after which he left that organization, and attended law school.
In 1980, he removed all cultural and religious references from his teaching — no rituals or lifestyle changes. He continued teaching his stress management technique during his corporate and legal services career.
Kelvin taught the first meditation courses at West Point Military Academy, and in the U.S. Army in Korea, including on the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Since then, Kelvin has been exposed to many other techniques, and over the past four decades has made his process of “Turning Within” Meditation even simpler, easier to learn, and more flexible to practice in your office or home.
